Black Ops 6 Zombies Season 3 release date, Shattered Veil map & everything we know

The Season 3 update is shaping up to be huge for Black Ops 6 Zombies, with another brand-new map and an iconic Wonder Weapon reportedly making a comeback.

No matter which mode you play, the third season is set to be one of the biggest CoD updates in recent memory. Verdansk is returning to Warzone after nearly four years away, and a number of iconic weapons are being added across BR and Black Ops 6 multiplayer.

But don’t think that the devs have forgotten about Zombies, though, as they’re continuing the trend of dropping new maps with each new season. So, here’s everything we know about BO6 Zombies Season 3, including the new Shattered Veil map and when it begins.

BO6 Zombies Season 3 start date

The Zombies Season 3 update drops on Thursday, April 3, 2025, the same day as Warzone and multiplayer. It was originally set to arrive on March 20, but it was delayed by two weeks so Treyarch and Raven Software could ensure a smooth rollout.

With Verdansk returning and plenty more content planned across the board, the devs admitted this is a “big moment” for the series, and wanted to spend some additional time polishing everything up.

Shattered Veil map

The Shattered Veil map arrives with Black Ops 6 Zombies Season 3. Previously referred to as “The Mansion” by the community and leakers, it’s set in a mansion near Liberty Falls and was heavily teased at the end of The Tomb’s story Easter Egg.

The S.A.M AI mentions that you need to head to this location now that you have both the Amulet and the Sentinel Artifact, implying it’ll be the next map released.

Officially, don’t know much about the map other than some teaser images and that the Amalgam enemy won’t be featured.

However, we’ve already seen the Shattered Veil map in the cinematic opening for Liberty Falls, where Edward Richtofen wakes up from a nightmare before being attacked by hordes of the undead. Very little is known about the map, but this intro video does show that there is an underground lab area hiding below the luxury home.

Eagle-eyed players and leakers have even managed to spot the house in the background of the Liberty Falls map. While operating a Chopper Gunner or Hellstorm missile, you can see the complex sitting at the top of a long, windy road.

These images align with reports that Shattered Veil will be another smaller map similar to The Tomb, as it appears that there is little to see outside of the building itself. However, there may be more hidden levels once we finally get to explore it.

Wonderwaffe DG-2 leaked

As always, a new map means a new Wonder Weapon and leaks have revealed that the iconic Wonderwaffe DG-2 will be the Season 3 gun. This powerful electric weapon was first introduced on Shi-No-Numa back in World at War and has reappeared multiple times over the years.

Fans had speculated that it would return in Black Ops 6 after seeing Richtofen using it in the Liberty Falls cinematic, and now that we’re seemingly heading to the same location, it would make sense for the Wonderwaffe to be added too.

It remains to be seen if this is the only Wonder Weapon that releases alongside the map, considering The Tomb introduced four variants of the Ice Staff.

New weapons

On top of all the Zombies-specific content, the update will also bring new weapons to all three modes. In the trailer revealing Verdansk, the HDR Sniper and Kilo 141 and CR-56 AMAX Assault Rifles were shown off, all of which will be available on Shattered Veil and the other maps.

It hasn’t been confirmed how they will be unlocked, but based on previous seasons, we expect them to be part of the new Battle Pass. Failing that, some of them will be released at a later date, as either an event reward or part of the mid-season update.

The Grau 5.56 has also been leaked so we might see this fan-favorite Assault Rifle arrive later in Season 3, perhaps in the mid-season update.

Classic Modern Warfare 2019 Operators are also set to arrive, with Mace confirmed, Domino shown off in a Verdansk trailer, and Roze leaked. Leaks also claim Hudson will appear as a playable Operator.

Of course, a lot of the information is based on leaks and speculation, so take it with a pinch of salt until Activision makes an official announcement. We’ll be sure to update this page with all the details as soon as we know more.
